Regional Squads

In 2024 Swimming Wellington is aiming to further support and develop our high performing swimmers by offering opportunities to hone their skills with other local, like-minded swimmers.

 

The region will host a maximum of 8 sessions for a Regional Squad and a Regional Squad Long-list, at various pools around the Wellington Region, and take a team away to compete at an event in New Zealand in late 2024.

Regional Squad Long List

  • Qualification criteria - All swimmers WHO have a NAGs qualifying time

  • June 1st – second pool session

  • Two further sessions in terms 2 and 3

  • Access to RST workshops

Regional Squad

  • Qualification Criteria - Top 10 age group finalists at NAGS

  • June 15th – First pool session

  • Three further sessions in Terms 2 & 3

  • Swimmers may also attend Long List trainings/workshops

  • Team merch to be presented

  • Team to compete away at a NZ meet in 2024
